ABOUT ME
Experienced Life Coach
My IG hashtag “hopeful healing human” reflects my approach to coaching…I love helping people find hope, healing and what they need to thrive as humans! Each of us reflect unique qualities that are our light for the world. This includes experiences that cast shadows on that light, blocking us from the lives we long to live. My own path includes my son’s death by suicide, job loss brought on by religious trauma and a family legacy of emotional immaturity. Along the way to healing, I discovered the illuminating process of Internal Family Systems (IFS), a life-giving way to lift the shadows and see what is possible.
I have worked with people who have experienced the unexpected in life and want help getting back on balance. I have worked with people who desire to navigate a job or relationship transition as well as those who simply want to feel more at peace in the world. After several decades in pastoral ministry, I trained in Internal Family Systems via IFSCA Stepping Stones, graduated from the Pisgah Coaching Institute with Brian Jaudon and Dr. Laura Gibson’s Certificate program to help Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents, among other enriching endeavors to deepen my coaching toolbox. My coaching approach is trauma-informed with additional training in addressing emotional resilience and religious trauma.
How Does IFS Coaching Work?
Empowers Self Healing
My coaching is focused on guiding individuals to get to know their inner resources and navigating the obstacles they encounter along the way. The client's system is in charge and I am committed to providing support that lifts shadows and reveals the possibilities for growth and healing.
Employs Curiosity and Compassion
The tools of Internal Family System inquiry are curiosity and compassion for who my clients are and what's alive in them when we meet. My training in emotional resilience and trauma recovery informs this inquiry allowing us to safely access what needs healing. This approach is designed to help individuals navigate the exploration with confidence and peace.
Evidence-Based Approach
In 2015, IFS was designated as an evidence-based practice on the National Registry for Evidence-based Programs and Practices, a database created by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
